- Can't I go to the Texas SOS to obtain Notary Certificates and Apostilles myself?
Yes, of course! However, for most people that usally means taking time off from work, filling out forms, waiting in line at the SOS or waiting for the documents to arrive at SOS, be processed and return via postal or overnight service.
Many people prefer to use a hand-delivered courier service to get prompt service, and know that any issues that may arise with the documents will be dealt with professionally and without delay.
back to top - What is the difference between a Notary Certificate and an Apostille?
An Apostille is the certification provided for documents intended for countries which have joined the Hague Convention. The Hague Convention provides for the simplified certification of public (including notarized) documents to be used in countries that have joined. A Notary Certificate is used for countries which have not joined the Hague Convention. Please be sure to specify the intended country for your documents so that we know which form of certification to request.

back to top - What if there is a problem with my documents?
We will check your documents for common problems before delivering to the SOS. We will call you if we find any problems to discuss together the next step. Should the SOS reject one or more of your documents, we will process all other documents. The SOS will set up a credit account for you if credit is needed. We will call you to discuss how to proceed.
back to top - If one of my documents is rejected by SOS, will you charge an additional fee to resubmit it?
No, we will not charge an additional fee for the same document.
